Wednesday, September 25th The 'After' Picture
The new soapstone counter-top finally got installed. It's a big change from the bright white of the laminate, but the stone is beautiful, and compliments the cherry cabinets and the stone fireplace and just makes the kitchen look more like part of the rest of the house.

Sunday September 22 We've got apples

Tuesday September 17th A Before Picture
The counter top in the kitchen was scheduled to be replaced with a soapstone countertop today. But the new sink was cut to the wrong size, so it all had to be delayed by a week. But here's a 'before' picture. Next Tuesday I will put up the 'after' picture. The old laminate countertop will get a second life down in the barn or sugar house....to be decided. 
Monday September 16th Good bye truck
We say good-bye to our first farm truck. In five years we put 40,000 miles on it. Those were miles added driving sap to sugar houses, moving kids in and out of houses and apartments, using it when other vehicles were in the shop, taking wood to the lumber mill, and so much more. It was really a work truck. Monday it went to the shop for an inspection, to be picked up by it's new owner, Don's cousin's son, Billy Samuelson.

Day two of the 90 Miler means paddling up the length of Long Lake and down much of the Racquette River.
Friday September 6th 35 miles
Mo and I paddled 35 miles from Old Forge to Blue Mountain Lake, on day one of the '90 Miler'.
